Retiring in Hua Hin ThailandThere are lots of reasons why people on the brink of retirement choose to leave their home country and go to live in a foreign land. The reasons are much the same across the world, from The U.S.A to the United Kingdom to Australia. Retirees from these countries are not only looking for a more temperate climate and maybe somewhere with a more manageable cost of living, but they are also looking for a quality lifestyle. In the Thai resort of Hua Hin there is no doubt that all these aspects can be found and non more so than at the select Falls development. This is typical of the exclusive resort style housing synonymous with the small town, where the style of living is far more laid back than many Thai resorts. Hua Hin has a quieter lifestyle based around the more discerning resident. It may be that someone doesn’t want to make a complete move away from their home country but would like a nice warm climate to live in during the cold dark winters 6 or 10,,000 miles away. They may decide to invest in a second home. Whatever the choice, Thailand and Hua Hin fits the bill perfectly with the stunning resort style property and the friendly, charming people. It is easy to see why so many choose areas like this to relax and spend their later years. Thailand welcomes retirees and part time residents because they have financial stability, they contribute to the economy by way of shopping and house buying, and may even employ local Thais to help with the daily chores such as housekeeping. The immigration visas are easy to obtain since there is a special retired persons yearly visa which can be issued in a persons home country in a matter of a day. It is a win win situation and the vast majority of retiring people do not regret the move made from their home country to live on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand for one minute. And who wouldn’t? Spend the day walking on the beach or swimming. Play golf on some of the best courses in Asia, or go for a quality meal in one of the many international and Thai restaurants – all at a fraction of the cost of Europe or America. A small town like Hua Hin is perfect in many senses. It has miles and miles of sandy beaches to stroll along. There are all the facilities in the centre of town such as shops and more recently a brand new shopping mall. In these places there are western foods available as well as fresh local produce in the market. The beauty of Hua Hin is that although it is still a favourite weekend getaway for many Thais, there is a quiet calm to the place. Property here is still relatively inexpensive, perhaps unlike Phuket where land and property prices are rising. The local golf courses have developed into some of the best the country has to offer and many Bangkok people will come to Hua Hin, just for the golf. The weather is quiet too. Refreshed by the Gulf breezes, Hua Hin is always warm but is less humid than many locations. Being on the western side of the Gulf of Thailand, there are fewer chances of stormy weather, although like all of Thailand it has its rainy season. The transport network around Hua Hin is good, and if a trip up to the capital Bangkok is needed then there are very swish buses, the train (takes a long time!), car rental companies who can provide a chauffeured service, and even an air service direct to Bangkok. A car is useful but not vital. So returning to the question of why stay in the cold and pay out high prices for just about everything the obvious answer is “Come to Thailand, relax and enjoy a new lifestyle in comfort, warmth and security” |
