The Kingdom of Thailand is a constitutional monarchy with a multi-party system and 2 chambers. King Bhumibol has reigned since 1946. King Bhumibol is extremely popular and is adored by the entire population. Thai is the official national language. Thailand has approximately 65 million inhabitants, of which 10 million live in the capital city of Bangkok.

The average temperature lies between 25 - 30 C.

Thailand is generally a very safe country. Buddhism is the main religion practiced by 95% of the population. Thailand is a very popular and highly frequented travel destination welcoming 15 million tourists each year ranking among the leading countries in Asia with 1.6 million health tourists per year.

The level of hygiene is comparable to western standards and Thailand is a leader in medical care throughout Asia. In every large city there is a public hospital as well as many private clinics. Large private hospitals have the most modern equipment and the best educated doctors.

Arguably the best hospital offering care and treatment to International standards is the Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, which is approximately two and a half hours driving distance from Hua Hin.
